As posted at vBulletin.com: vBulletin 3.6.0 Released (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194072)
vBulletin 3.6.0
The vBulletin team is proud to present vBulletin 3.6.0 Gold.
vBulletin 3.6.0 is now our stable, fully supported version, superseding both 3.0.x and 3.5.x. While we will continue to support 3.0.x and 3.5.x with security and critical bug fixes, these lines are no longer in active development.
Many visitors to this forum will have been keeping tabs on the 3.6 beta and release-candidate versions that have been available for the past several weeks and will be familiar with what is new and improved in vBulletin 3.6. For those who have not seen what you can expect, there is a thread available here (http://www.vbulletin.com/go/36features) for your benefit.
What is a 'Gold' Version?
The term 'gold' in software terms has nothing to do with the color of the application. It refers to the practise of burning the final version of software to a gold CD-R in preparation for the manufacture of CDs for sale and distribution to customers, and is used to indicate that the code is finished. The official name of this new version is vBulletin 3.6.0.
PHP and MySQL Requirements
Please note that vBulletin 3.6.0 requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later.
Installing or Upgrading vBulletin
Please see the appropriate manual sections: Installing vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/install) and Upgrading vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/upgrade).
Template Changes
Many templates have changed since 3.5.x in order to accommodate new features. As a result, you will need to revert several templates or some areas of your board will not function.
Changed Files
The majority of files have changed since the 3.5.x series, though a complete list is provided below.
Bug Reports
You may report bugs by clicking here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/bugs36.php). Before reporting a bug, please attempt to recreate the bug on a default, uncustomized style (especially if your errors are JavaScript related). Additionally, if you have used the plugins/products system at all, please attempt to recreate the issue with the plugins system disabled!

Is it just the attachment.php?
From what I gather thats all it was.
IE didnt respect the MIME type for PDF's thereby allowing them to be potentialy exploited.

Well there seems little point in having two warning systems.

Only if you feel the new one is better. And that of course should be based on your experience with both and not what others say.

The problem with that is, how to keep the old warning points on the new system.
And btw: does the new system also have the option to make it post a topic automatically for every warning, and does it send a pm to the user?

Only if you feel the new one is better. And that of course should be based on your experience with both and not what others say.In which case it would be more sensible to tweak the built in one to do what you want rather than install another entire warning system.

Ty :)That text is incorrect and you will need to ask the author on what information he had based this post. Please read the vBulletin.com announcement forum for official information on versions and vulnerabilities.
Shortly after new versions of all vBulletin versions where released, we internally discovered a possible vulnerability. This was an IE exploit (and no, not only IE7) and was not related to vBulletin itself. We however temporary disabled downloads, and created a fix on vBulletin to avoid this IE exploit. Shortly after this patch, the downloads where resumed and customers who already downloaded the package where offered a patch for their installation.
