Noob Question - uploading images to my site

Where do I go in my control panel to upload images? (i.e. for smilies)

I tried uploading directly from my PC last night and it kept saying invalid path...

your best bet would be to go into your server and upload them directly in
images/smilies
Then go to smilies manager and its pretty straight forward.
