This weekend we released version 2.0 of the TampaForums social networking site on vBulletin. We upgraded to vB Advanced 2.2.0 and vBulletin v3.6.0 RC2. The social networking system was redesigned and rewritten from the ground up.

Features:

Some of the new features of TampaForums v2.0 are as follows:

Adding a new friend requires friend approval. A status box will appear in your friends profile where they can approve/deny your friends request.
Adding friends is a mutual addition. When one person adds you, you add them automatically.
You can now post bulletins that are only viewable to your friends.
Friends list are sortable via drag and drop from your view all friends page. You must hit save when completed.
Profile galleries with ability to comment.
TF Groups allow you to create a group and have your own forum associated to that group that can only be viewable by group member.
Groups can now be made invite only. The group owner will recieve join requests in the status box of their profile to accept/deny these requests.
You now have a gallery you can access by clicking your main profile picture.
There is a built in CSS editor that allows you to easily change colors and fonts on your profile.
The profiles are now templated. Access via the Edit your profile link. You can move/add/delete blocks of data in your profile.
User rating now drops the highest 20% of votes, and lowest 20% of votes. This keeps haters or lovers from drastically changing your rating with a single vote.
Group membership shows in profile.
Blogs are cleaned up and better looking.
Front page has been revamped and speed increased.
Improved profile search functionality. Search by age/sex/distance/keyword in profile/etc.

I used to live in Tampa (Up until 1 week ago) and at my High School (Gaither) everyone in my Drafting class would go on your forums! Nice forum, by the way!

That looks a little bit like perfection to me, Zate.. For those who aren't interested in the Zoints.com option - you're going to get a lot of requests for that software. :p

Doesn't look that much different from your previous version, more like a realignment then a redesign

It's a complete rewrite, no code from the original version was used. All functionality that isnt using vbadvanced were made into vbulletin plugins for easy upgrading.

The profiles are template driven so you can upload your own profile and have it designed any way you like. Their is a built in CSS editor for people who cant figure out templates or css files. It's hard to call it a simple layout change when the layout can be anything you like now. Thats like a forum software changing from hard coded html to a mysql driven template system.

Taken from our site:

Here is a list of the common variables.

$vitals - vitals module
$bulletins - bulletins module
$status - status module
$rating - ratings module
$winks - winks module
$visitors = visitors module
$groups = groups module
$blogs = blogs module
$profile = profile module
$friends = friends module
$comments = comments module

$default_pic - users default picture relative URL
$user_name - users name
$user_id - users id

if you dont want the default 'container' around a module, append a '_clean' to the variable name to get the clean output. Ex. $friends_clean

Interesting, still always amusing that you used vbadvanced in that way.

Most likely pay him alot of money.

Anyway, site STILL looks awesome. That banner up at the top caught my eye the first few seconds when it changed pictures. I thought I was going crazy at first. But, nice work.
