What is the best method to apply SEO to signatures?
I've had the 3.5x vBSEO Conditional Signatures module for a long time, see no difference, or perhaps someone can explain how to test the changes in the major search engines.
Attached is my current settings.
What do you mean by 'apply SEO to Signatures'?

That mod is just to keep your users signatures/signature links from being indexed unless they are in a certain group, or their message is a certain length.

That doesn't answer the question, all that does is provide a definition of SEO.
Why would you want to SEO signatures only? I can't actually figure out how the premise even works.
SEO is a site- (or page-) wide thing, many many factors are included.

I do want to apply SEO to the entire forum, but that module was just on my mind so I included that.
What is the best method to apply SEO to the forum? I get over 300 unique hits a day, only 750k ranking on Alexa. Doesn't make much sense, over 6,000 members (almost at least)

I think that are stupid settings. (Not your settings, but the signature settings from vbSEO.com in general).
You don't want to have the rel="nofollow" tag removed with ANY signature, since the links within those signatures are most likely not relevant to your site. Thus add rel="nofollow" to all signatures is the best SEO solution.
With these settings you can reward users with PR value while your own rankings go down by doing so (not much, but still).
Pretty stupid from vbSEO.com.
One more thing regarding vbSEO.com:
They rewrite urls to posts as vbseo.com/f5/vbseo-5161/
Google likes it better to have pages on the root or in a directory 1 up from the root (and ofcourse linked from the root).
Having vbseo.com/f5/vbseo-5161.html will work much better.
Why? Pages in a forum are relevant to a subject so that is perfect to play with. Creating pages of this subject in a directory in wich the subject lives will enable google to aply "SE Value" to that directory + contents. Pages in a directory are linked to that directory. Directories within a directory can be holders of new content and are treated like seperate area's.
So why can't it be that all pages in those post directories are rewarded with the highest possible SE value, since they are not linked from the root. Having pages directly in the first level directory wich is linked from the root will aply all SE value the root can give to those pages.

i prefer site.com/forum/title/ much better to site.com/forum/title.html
but what do i know ? oh ya, pr 4 on most my categories.. :p
BTW.. u can set your URL to be the title.html.. so where u said vbseo.com is stupid, maybe your just un-educated about the features ;)
to the thread starter, the best thing u can do for you "seo" is get tons of backlinks ;)

Well, I was refering to the signature settings.
I'm sure there will be a lot of other possibilities with the vbSEO.com mod that I don't know of yet (haven't tried it yet) but as it's installed on their site is not the best configuration for sure.
