How do I setup private msg popups

How do I set it so that if you've got a private message an alert box pops up and tells you when you login?

This is set through the userCP. There is a check box under the private messaging section of the Edit Options Page which is for pop up messages.

You can enable this for new members by checking the appropraite box in the vBOptions > User Regiatration Options.
