I asked myself a 1000 times, why this is not a standard feature. :)
thx a lot! ;)
p.s. how is it handled? does the user have to log in to unsubscribe, after clicking the link in the mail?

This looks brilliant, thank you!
It adds a tab to your Email Manager...
yap. but how does it prove, if the unsubscribtion is done by the user himself? randomized string or somehow?

It's done by basically unchecking the "Allow Administrators to send me Mail" setting in the UserCP. I was considering having it unsubscribe by userid, so you wouldn't have to login, but there'd be issues with people unsubscribing other users; at present, the logged in user is the one who's unsubscribed.
I wondered too why this wasn't a standard feature, a friend of mine's site had just recently been informed by Google that large numbers of their users had been blacklisting his mail -- which is I why I wanted this for my own board.

thats the issue i asked for, right! thx. ;) others are the worst, as they always are. :D so this is the better way.
eh. perhaps.... more better.... to generate a randomized string added to the url.... so, if the user forgot the password, theres no trouble getting a new one to leave the newsletter.... ;) perhaps for the next version? ;) would be very nice....
e.g. you could easily take the md5-password as an additional variable to the url? so this would authenticate the user? unsubscribe-link: xxxxxx.com/xxxxxx.php?uid=123&identify=3458a89ae94498934 ....

thx. ;)

Hmm... interesting idea, kind of like the confirmation email. I'll take a look and see if I can replicate it.

After someone clicks on the unsubscribe, you get the following error:

Man, I always forget to add table prefixes to my hacks, lol. Sorry about that, I'll fix it real quick.
Edit: Okay all fixed, just redownload and set Overwrite to Yes when you're importing.

Same thing was happening to me. I had to uninstall it.
I'll check it out after the fix.

Yeah, if you ever find something that's not working in a hack, you've gotta tell the author. We unfortunately don't have the gift of telepathy. :p

Does this feature work with vB 3.6.0 Gold?
And I do agree, it should be a standard feature.

Yes, this should work fine with 3.6.0.

Thx for this, installed it on 3.6.1, works fine.
I actually made a request for something like this but got no replies, and just found this thread.
Another thing I asked for, maybe I can try here again.
Is there a way to have site title in from field when admin emails are sent to members. Atm it just shows email address. And it would look much better if it would show site title like other automatic emails have, like pm notification etc.

I'll try to include it in the next version.

Does this work with any newer versions of VB? 3.7? 3.8?
Alfa1

That would be great. The rules of large email providers make this a mandatory function. See the article in my signature for more information.
In any case; a 3.8 version would be much appreciated.

When unsubscribing from admin emails, it displays the following text:
Are you sure you want to unsubscribe (email@mysite.com) from our mailing list?
By unsubscribing you will no longer receive mail from mysite
But it seems that this statement is not true, because members will still receive mail from the site, if they have active subscriptions.
