View Full Version : Is there a mod to exclude a forum from overall post count?

Since the only other request (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=79069) for this that I could find was over a year ago, I thought it was worth asking again. Has anyone done something like it yet? (Would be even better if you could exclude certian usergroups from the member count, as well...)

I know lowering your statistics is a weird thing to want to do, but I've got a good reason. I'm importing specific topics from an old forum of mine with 16,000 posts into my new forum with only 1,500 posts, but some of those are complete trash. I want to put them all in a separate, private forum, and delete the ones I don't want and move the others to a public area a little at a time.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, this is already a standard feature.

AdminCP > Forums Manager > Edit Forum > (Option) Count Posts Made in this Forum Towards User Post Counts Yes/NO

From the tests I've conducted, that seems to modify the post count information for users, but doesn't affect the "Forum Statistics" at all, which is what I want.

Edit: I've found an acceptable solution. It appears that the "Fake Community Statistics" modification lets me enter a negative value to alter the numbers by. The only problem is I'll have to disable my vbadvanced statistics module for a while, but I can live with that.
