I have this mod installed on one of the websites I host and I'm finding that it can't be added to their custom theme (assualt-squad fps) but it works in the default vb theme/style with no problems. Is there a workaround to add this to custom themes that don't have the "$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>" code to add the settings after?

Look for the USER CP code then and just add it below it. I haven't seen the fps skin yet but I know of the people that make those skins...so I don't know if you will have to add an image with it as well...

Haha, Man, it's tedious scanning long threads. I'm sorry if this answer is covered. I've seen a couple posts hit on it, but nothing that really solves it.

I want to add categories to my drop down menu. Like quick links has miscellanious and user cp. just the darker colored bar.

Everything seem work well when I add Menu and Link to Menu. But in Stand-Alone Link, I checked all in option "Select the usergroups that can see this link" but it do not show and when I try to edit that Stand-Alone Link, I see in that option, nothing checked. Please help

As you can see I have the first two variables just after the login/logout link and the other is outside the table columns/rows.

I have tried to put the three lines ( $custom_singlelinks, $custom_droplinks_cat and $custom_droplinks ) everywhere I can think of but the formatting just isn't working.

Can someone give me a hand with this?

Both the tables already existed so I backed them up (despite both having zero records) and then dropped each. I think I have fixed it, certainly the XML has imported OK...

That suggests for older versions of MYSQL (mine is 4.0.16) the ENGINE command is not recognised, the command TYPE should be used for backwards compatibility.

I'm using a custom skin, navbar has been moved to the header and I followed the discussion and put one edit int he header and the other in the navbar. It works great.

what I need to now do is make sure that every time I add a new link a spacer gets added nav_div.gif.

Also I need to adjust the class="" since it colorizes the added menu item. Where do I find that to edit? I've looked in the templates I can find which is just the custom_droplinks_cat, custom_singlelinks, custom_droplinks, but there is no class for me to edit there. I figured out how to do the customer_droplinks_cat and get the nav.gif there by editing that particular template. It works. I also found the class I needed to adjust and inserted it into the $custome_singlelinks as well.

Hoever, I cannot get the $custom_singlelinks since that is all that is in the custom_singlelinks template. I tried editing the XML file by adding

to the line:

I only using dropdown links.

When I install this plugin, there is no problem.
But later I back to the site, I found that the small triagles have gone,
so can not pull down the menu for the link.

Then I install the plugin again, there is no problem...

Ouch.. You may want to take a look at the way you're using the template system - Right now you may aswell not use templates as you use PHP to output the HTML. This makes it really difficult to customize the hack.

Second Navbar For The Links

Is it possible to get this hack to make a second navbar on top of the breadcrumb box. So when you add menus and links they go in a second navbar and not the default.

Cut them from there and paste them into the position you want them relative to the other navbar items. In my case I wanted them at the extreme left of the Navbar before the UserCP link, so I put them right after

1 install issue: the .php that goes into the adminCP had different permission attributes, so it wouldn't execute in the ADMINCP when I tried. - Not really a big issue.

Nice to have:
An "All of the above" check box in the usergroup section. Speed things up a little and save me from RSI :D.

Anyway excellent mod. makes life a lot easier, as I was starting to look at creating my own drop down from scratch.

Uninstalled this hack and installed top navbar (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=129074) instead, because :
(1) This hack has a bug where when you try to update a link, nothing happens.
(2) Attempting to go back and re-set the permissions on links manually after adding a new usergroup is a tedious process.
(3) This hack lacks a default "let everyone see this link" option.
(4) This hack cannot add a second nav bar, so if you add a bunch of links, it causes the links to stretch off the page, which renders badly for visitors.

Most mods are written for the default vbulletin templates and when you try installing on a customised one they fail to work right, I had the same problem on my own website.

I'll always install on the default style first then modify them to work with the customised ones. On my current style the navbar buttons are in a totally different template to the default style.

as well, I think this is quite easy to add new links however it adds links on the existing navbar of VB default navbar, I would like to apply this mode options to top nav bar as my existing nav bar is already getting clustered and I have plenty of room to add on my top nav bar which is on top of nav bar.

How to apply this mode options to create menu on the top navbar mode instead on the existing default navbar??

The menu links for this add-on are listed on the navbar, but they don't do anything when you click on them.

I've just tried it in 3.7.2 Patch 1 and it seems to be working fine (as far as I can tell from the two links I've added).

Edit: sorry - doesn't seem to let me edit a link once it's created. So if I want to change a link I have to delete it (that works ok) and recreate with the changes.

I tried to introduce $vbphrase[phrasex] in the Title Field and No Result, appears "$vbphrase[phrasex]" and not the vBulletin Phrase "phrasex".

(Works in vB373 but when a Stand-Alone Link is Created and then Edited the First Link on the Dropdown Menu is Changes to the Edition of the Stand-Alone Link).

I think the description of this hack needs updated to let people know it works perfect on vb3.7x! Many people are missing this gem! Your hack is nearly perfect and gives people full control of their navbar! No other menu hack comes close to this. This should be added to VB as standard code!

i can create the the drop down link and it shows in the navbar but when i click on it nothing happens. any ideas, help? is it becouse i didnt fill in the hover text or image paths? im not sure what to put there

If you make a new menu you need to also add sub links to that menu for it to work. There is a difference between a menu and a stand alone link. You have three options listed below.

Add Menu (creates drop menu but you have to add sub links for it to work)
Add Link to Menu (adds sub links to menus you created above)
Add Stand-Alone Link (makes single links on their own)You must "Enter the URL of a site" and enter the "Name". You do not haver to enter "Hover Text" or an "Image Path". The hover text is just to add some popup text when a user hovers over the link and the image path is if you want to have an image next to the links. Both of these are not required.

The only bug that I believe there is, at least when using this hack with vb3.7x, is that once you make a link to edit it's settings, you have to delete it and remake it with your corrections for the changes to stick.

I have ran out of room on my NavBar i think......

Whenever i go to add a new link it says its done, but it doesnt shot, and i think its becuase the navbar is full.

Is there any way that i can make it so there is more room by having like another nav bar right underneath the current one or something like that.

If this is possible, or if someone would let me know, please say.

I was just wondering if Advanced Navbar could be duplicated in another navbar such as the navbar2? (Another vbulletin.org hack) Is there a way to make an additional navbar with your product built in?)

I tried renaming file name and also editing "navbar" statement within your xml file to "navbar2." When I went to navbar2 template to do editing and I realized that navbar2 is not an exact copy of original navbar template.

The editing for each drop down menu item in Navbar2 template is time consuming. Is there a way to make another navbar that is completely open to adding different drop downs etcetra using Advanced Navabar?

P.S. I installed standard Advanced Navbar into default vBulletin style. In vB3.8 it works and makes a drop down too.

I tried the global variable statements. It made no difference. When I am inside of an VbAdvanced dynamics or links program, if I decide to go to another location on the navbar it gives me a blank browser page with a 404 statement.

Some of the links from with in Dynamics program will work. But others do not. Project Tools does but VbBlog does not. CMPS portal does. Now it seems that CMPS pages that I have made to be wrapped will work the others do not.

So my question is why is the dynamics program directory looking for the blog file inside of dynamics directory and not its proper location inside of the forums directory. I have made the proper forum location statment inside of dyna config.php file.

So can you help me get your fine navbar addition to work. I have 3.1 CMPS, Dynamics 1.1, Vb 3.8. installed

Hello;

Is this a normal experience. I have found out that these programs from Vbadvanced are in different tables. That I believe means that they can not be queried across table. Is that true?

So as a result that is why I am having the problem with navigation?

If that is the case they are just stand alone programs that need to be accessed differently when using aspects of dynamics and links.

Can someone help me with my conclusions please? I would appreciated it.

The whole interface for this mod shows up only under its own menu item in your AdminCP labeled as: "Advanced Navbar Links". You control all your custom menu items from there.

I was hoping to hide the 'Calendar' or other navbar links using this tool instead of modifying the navbar code for each style I have available. Is this something I should be able to do using this tool?There is no way to use this mod to hide default vb links. What you need to do is first edit your navbar template and remove the links from there. Then use this mode to make what ever links you wish to with full permission control! This should be included as standard in VB already years ago!

I use this mod to make public menus then a whole different set of menu items once a member logs in. To date it is the best mod for navbar links there is! It does need a major update to take it to the next level!

I used this mod to make the links to the public pages of the above website which is mainly controlled by vBadvanced. Once you login all the public links are hidden and a completely different set of menu items are shown. This is a website for doctors only so I can not show the members only side of the site. (HIPPA Laws!)

I removed all standard vb navbar links so that I could have total control of the navbar which is important to the sites that I design. I design vb and vba based sites which look more like websites then just a forum so the feel is a true CMS interface.

Different Styles:
Now as for your different styles. You would have to remove the standard links in your navbar templetes and install this mods code for each. Once you do that you will be very happy because your level of navbar menu control is almost unlimited! (This mod needs a way to make a second line of navbar links above the breadcrumbs. A future development I hope!)

Combining Two Mods Together For Perfection!

I found a way to combine the "Easy Navbar Links (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=201438)" template mod with this mod. What this does is instead of adding the links created by this mod into the standard vb navbar the links will be added to a second navbar above! LESS LINK CLUTTER!
