Take me back

It would be cool, if after some one posts they get taken back to the page they were at. For instance if they did a search, if it took them back to the search results page they clicked on to go to the post they posted in.

Ya I know thats what I do :) Just a suggestion

One suggestion I had from a user was that after he posted a message that he wanted to be taken back to the forum display page rather than to the thread itself. His logic was that since he just added to the thread, he probably wouldn't need to add anything else to it at the moment.

Thoughts?

akiy but you see your post and spot all the spelling mistakes that need to be corrected as most users do not use the preview option.

Yup -- that was what I told him, too. Thought I would relay his suggestion, though.

Hmm... A spell checker function...I wonder if we can hack ispell into this...

akiy, the "where am I taken to after I post" issue had been widely debated on my forum for a long time. Everyone wanted something else. Some thought they should be taken back to the forum main page, some thought they should be taken back to the thread they just posted on, etc.

Eventually we added a hack to UBB that takes you not only back to the thread, but to the actual post you added (something that is elementary in vB). I haven't heard anyone whining since. :)
