User Registration Problem..

New Users are getting the following error when they try to sign up @ my forums..

The registration of new users is temporarily disabled.


Now Im getting:

Sorry, registration has been disabled by the administrator.

In my Vbulletin ADMINCP >> Vbulletin Option >> User Registration Options it shows the following:

If you would like to temporarily (or permanently) prevent anyone new from registering, you can do so. Anyone attempting to register will be told that you are not accepting new registrations at this time. >> Set to No..

Is there anywhere else that could be the problem??

what version of vbulletin and what mods are you using that affect registrations?

All of them are disabled now.. and Im still getting the error..

This is the mod that's doing it in all liklihood.

Block Registrations From The Same IP 1.0.0 Disallow registrations from IPs that are already in the database.

I believe I recall seeing some stuff in that mod's support thread about the problem you are describing. You will probably want to go check out that thread.

I have uninstalled the hack / plugin / mod and its still doing it :(

every search I have done says that mod is your problem. Make sure it does not have a lagging plugin or setting somewhere that is still active after you uninstalled it.

Also, try to register from another computer and ISP and see if it does not let you in.

I've tried doing a FRESH NEW-INSTALL and its still doing it... :(

Actually THAT is the problem! The "yes/no" answer stands for "Allow New User Registration". Setting it to "no" prevents new registrations, while setting it to "yes" allows new people to join. Switch the setting to "yes", and you'll be alright! You can easily see the change by registering a fake account you can later delete!
