Remove Forum Categories from the Navbar
Version 1.0
What does this do?
This little mod will remove the forum category from the Navbar when a user is viewing a thread
Sounds Great! How do I install?
Installation couldn't be easier. Unzip the attached ZIP file and import the Product XML to your AdminCP as normal. - it adds 1 plugin :)
Important: Unfortunately, my leased vBulletin licence has now expired, and I won't be renewing it until September which means I will be unable to reply to this thread, or update this mod until then. I'm hopeful that the great vBulletin.org community will step in to answer any questions in my absence though :) See you all in early September! :D

Hi Alan,
Thanks for this! I'd absolutely love it if you could do it for forumdisplay as well. It that a huge deal or can you crank it out pretty easy? :)

Thanks,
Alan.
Are you able to modify this to work with 3.5.4 and 3.6?
I do not like running beta software.

Un-tested, but if you edit the Product XML, and remove "executionorder="5"", it'll probably install on 3.5.4.
Thanks,
Alan.

I found this thread again now that I've upgraded to 3.6 and it works like a charm. Thanks Alan (even though you won't see this for another month)!

This hack only removes it from viewthread.... Look at http://boostconcept.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16 <-that's in your annoucements forum, but you don't see announcements in the breadcrumb.

If would be awesome if there were an option to remove the forum name instead.

What would happen on sites that have categories within categories? Will it hide all of them?

No, not in its current configuration. I've tried it also hoping for that type of results. Perhaps with time someone will change a bit of the code and post it.

I LOVE this! I center my forum home category names and have forums IN forums so once you get to the thread it looks like a jumbled up mess!!
Im subscribing to this and I cant wait to get it on my 3.6.2!

It doesn't look like Alan has been back for a while. I released a similar mod to this several weeks ago that includes some of the features people here have requested. Check my profile for the link.
