Ok so heres how it plays out:
I submitted a fast reply on my forum, when I clicked submit it asked me to login so I did, the after I logged in it forwarded me to 'http://newpost.php'.
The problem seems to only happen when you have to login after submitting a post.

Which browser?
Firefox here, same issue.
Haven't tried on IE - this redirect issue is related to hitting quote/newreply in a thread - regular logging in is functional.

I have this same problem!
I get a double url when I click the link for new posts.
The code in the header template does not show this.
when I look at the source for the home page, it shows http://www.gotakeahike.com/forum/http://www.gotakeahike.com/forum...
but the template only shows it once.
I cant figure out how to get it to not rewrite itself. I have even tried tremoving the first instance from the template thinking it would solve the problem but it didnt.
