Welcome Panel Template Rewrite

Introduction:

When I first installed Zero Tolerence's Welcome Panel (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=83124), I found that it had a lot of mistakes on my computer. I set out to make a new template for the hack - and I succeeded. This template is my rewrite of Zero Tolerence's hack.

Please Remove Zero Tolerance's Plugins When Upgrading from a Previous Version!

Hack Requirements:
This hack has one requirement:
vBulletin v3.6.0 or higher. (Confirmed working with vB 3.7.0 RC1)
Installation

Installation is a breeze! Follow these simple steps:
Upload Files into folders.
Install Welcome Panel Product
Customize!
Yes, it's that simple.

Feature Lists:
Support for v1.x has been dropped.

v2.2.0
Displays the number of new posts.
It displays the user's avatar & links to the edit avatar page.
Displays your forum stats:
Posts
Threads
Members
The welcome panel is fully phrased.
Displays a link for new posts.
There is a link to edit your profile.
It shows the forum your most active in.
It displays the percent of your posts compared to the total forum posts.
It displays the users posts per day count.
It displays the users number of posts.
The welcome panel is collapsable if the user doesn't want it there.
Completely customizable through a setting group with 13 settings.
Displays users current time (in their time zone)!
Image or Textual links for New Posts, Daily Posts, and Edit Your Profile.
Displays the number of new Private Messages.
Displays the number of new Threads.
Customizable link for forum rules.
Customizable to the latest forum announcement (thread only).
Latest Announcment name is customizable through a setting.
There is an admin editable section for "useful links", HTML required.
Link to forum leaders. (uses vB default phrase so if you change it to something else the welcome panel also changes)
Link to Mark Forums Read. (uses vB default phrase so if you change it to something else the welcome panel also changes)
Link to the announcement forum.
The colors now alternate correctly on your welcome panel.

Lil Ripsta, it took some time, as I needed a 3.6.0 board, and the license i was attached to expired. So, now I'm back. Screenshots, later today, with most variations. There are two things that I can't get too: no avatar & image links. I haven't gotten them uploaded. I'm glad there's people who were wanting this. :)

FYI, just for testing purposes, I installed the 3.5.4 version and in working with King Kovifor I uploaded the 3.6 version of the xml and have no issues. It does not load the 3.6 FAQ's portion. Good suff.

Installed on 3.6.0 beta 2 here and nothing works. I see no change to the forums. I imported the plugin's from Zero Tolerances hack and your 2.2 product. The template was created by the installer but I do not see any change to the boards at all. Am I missing something?

I currently have a 3.6.0 Beta 1 board, so I haven't noticed any errors. If you'd like me to look at it personally, I need a test account to log in to. If you'd like to send the test account login information through PM, your welcome too. But it should add a welcome panel as in the Screenshot onto the forum home.

Try Taking These Steps:

ACP -> vBulletin Options -> Welcome Panel Template Rewrite -> On/Off -> Switch to on if it's off.

This Has to do with the plugin. I think it is something with find $navbar and replace with $navbar - $welcomepanel or something like that.

As to the code it's in the template. I'm working on getting a 2 template system but the plugin isn't working. It's depending on your style.

Click on [revert] because it's a "custom" template and it's default is blank and it'll delete it.

You don't have to technically delete Zero's template, just overwrite with this one, otherwise you can just upload this .xml file, check the box for overwrite allowed then it should do just fine.

when you remove the old hack, all you have to do is get rid of the template and upload this one. Since zero's template was manually added [revert] in style manager should do the trick.

No. I'm having trouble with plugins so it won't be out for a while. Just install his plugins and I'll have detailed instructions on upgrading.

Umm, I installed this but I still seem to have only ZT's Welcome Panel showing. It's like I didn't do anything.

Steps performed:

1. Uploaded 2.2.0 xml file (checked overwrite)
2. Went to vb options --> Welcome Panel Re-write and submitted it.

The panel isn't that large height wise. It is the full width of your forum, so if your forum's got a really tiny width, it may be really tall. It's proportional.

That line would be in the wp_userstats phrase. Or the phrase that includes user stats. Just delete it including the {#}. It won't affect it.

Also looking at zero tolerances original it has some nice bits on it, like the posts in the last 24 hours, where you are most active (forum) which is also fab. Can this be added as an option to yours?

Well, not sure about the font but you could probably work using <small> tags or something. I don't personally have that problem...

About the two welcome panels, check inside the forumhome template category and see if you have two. If you have two, find one that has a [REVERT] next to it and click it. That should remove ZT's template.

That'll take some working. Those two things are managed through two phrases, and have another phrase in between. If you don't touch your rules link and settings, you'll be find using these instructions:


Open up ACP -> Phrases -> wp_unread
Replace:
There have been <b>{1}</b> posts and <b>{2}</b> threads since your last visit at {3}. The time is currently {4}, on {5}. You have <a href="private.php">{6}</a> unread Private Messages.
With:
<ul>
<li>There have been {1} posts and {2} threads since your last visit at {3}, 08-03-2007.</li>

I've never personally had a problem with font... But try surrounding it with <font size="x"></font>. That might solve your problem.

- Hopefully, the return of DaPro's style (might not happen)

That's a part of ZT's plugins. I'll attempt to look at them.

A lot of the functions come from ZT's plugins.

Some modifications need to be made around line 72...

One request on this. There is no log-in input boxes on this. I logged out and almost couldn't log back in *lol*. I had to click on the CP link and there was a log-in area in there. Can you add a Log-in section to this when users are not logged-in? It would help tremendously. I had a few users e-mailing me last night saying they couldn't get in. Thanks.

I've dabbled with MySQL briefly - would it not be possible to select all from the table where table != 29 (my forum I want to exclude) - that should achieve it? Just not sure how that can be formatted....

There is no login box for a reason. This displays if the user's userid is greater than zero... So it doesn't show to guests.

I've dabbled with MySQL briefly - would it not be possible to select all from the table where table != 29 (my forum I want to exclude) - that should achieve it? Just not sure how that can be formatted....

I've managed to figure it out - and also added the ability to change posts to post/threads to thread if there is only 1 new of either, if there's 2 or more, it shows posts/threads - as it stands there's a new plugin, 1 template change and a phrase update - I can post this all here, but it does require manual changing of the template and phrase.

Queries really shouldn't be added for guests, since this doesn't show for guests.

I'm not sure what would cause this... Maybe some stray while() in ZT's plugin? I'll look into it.

The last visit seems to be messing up somehow... I'm guessing you have 45,848 posts and 9,495 threads on your forum? Will look into.

Use the "Admin Links"/"Useful Links" section of your template... For the announcement link, set up your announcement forum settings or your latest announcement settings... Admin Links show up as it's own little section, but it's the easiest way to add it to all of them.

as even ur 3.0.4 version was fine with me but after replcaing with 3.0.5 i got db error and now i havent even 3.0.4 xml plugin

Can you send me login details. I'm not sure why 3.0.5 is doing this to your system, as your the only one who has experienced this problem. I no longer have 3.0.4 - or I shouldn't.

All you have to do is replace the "Main" plugin with the patch I sent. I'm working on 3.0.6 which includes several new features. I don't have 3.0.5's file on my computer...

the new posts area, all it says is "There's been" and thats it. Below that is says "don't forget to read the rules" and has the rules linked, but the new posts are doing anything. Went through and removed previous ZT installs.

Delete the panel code from navbar template. It'll say <if conditional=="$show['member']"> I think.

Check the options. Several things can be turned off.

That would take a lot of messing with the templates. The panel is attached to the $navbar template...

It's there with an exact match. I just tried uninstalling it, re-downloaded the files and uploaded the product again, but still there. I'm going to check some of my other mods to see if they could be interfering somehow.

just a Very odd issue, and is visible only on translated version.

post per day are always showing 0.00 . Obviously the parameter in the translation for that field is {3}. All the other numbers are perfectly shown.

In any case just to be more shure I unistalled and reinstalled the hack, then tried to revert all forumhome_welcomepanel_ ..but still same issue.

lol an interesting thing is that the issue is with my admin account only. i have 3 more personal testing accounts on the board and they are working perfectly. i should ask my users too (no one complained yet)

Infact when and if enabling images (text/images selection) this 3 sentences are hardcoded.

1) New Posts
2) Get daily posts
3) Edit Profile.

I do know that they are onmouseover/popping-up sentences but will be nice ;)

I do confirm that your test Adm Account is still there and I PMed u yesterday all details.

How do I exclude certain forums from being shown for new posts and threads (ie Admin/Mod only) - I have a funny feeling I've already covered this but have forgotten - is it a template change? I can't see anything AdminCP side.
