Maybe you could start by putting the url to your site in your siggy here and other places you frequent (only if they allow this, you don't want to break any rules).
I am sure others will have more suggestions for you :)

Make sure you have submitted your URL to search engines and that guests can view your site.

Doing a bit of PR at MySpace.com will do wonders. Some members here have done that and it did wonders for their sites.

We have a myspace site that we even tried running a contest through to gain members and we got nothing out of it. I think there is so much spam on myspace that most people tend to ignore site promotions ...

Make a "Fake Tom" on myspace then make bulletins advertising your site.

My "Fake Tom" is 4 months old and has 2500 members and i never advertise him, i get 15 friend requests a day just by being on myspace as that sort of character.
