Show me how to back up my database please

Hello,
I'm changing my forum host, i'd like to transfer my database but i dont know which type of file should i export my database. Please help me, i'd like to keep everything in my forum and bring it to the new host.

i do sql

but i use the database back up with in VB.
go to Maintenance in your admincp and then click on Database Backup.

Select Structure and Data from the menu on the right then click select all below this. Check Add drop table (always useful to have this) and save as file. You might want to check either zipped or gzipped too depending on the size of your database. Click go and you should get the download prompt. Save it to your PC somewhere (desktop is always good ;)) and then you can import it later to your new server.
