I'm trying to get the top five new posts for public viewing on an external page, It won't have any constant connection to my board (for the exception of getting the info about the latest posts. To start, I am playing about with phpMyAdmin to get the newest 5 posts
SELECT *
FROM vb3_thread INNER JOIN vb3_user on vb3_thread.lastposter = vb3_user.username
INNER JOIN vb3_post ON vb3_post.threadid = vb3_thread.threadid
INNER JOIN vb3_forum ON vb3_forum.forumid = vb3_thread.forumid
GROUP BY vb3_thread.threadid
ORDER BY vb3_thread.lastpost DESC
LIMIT 0, 5
This does as I want, but I am unsure how to modify this so it won't show threads from private forums, i.e. only show items from forums in which the public (non-registered users) can see.
If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Edit: OK, I sorta know what I want to happen, but if someone can tell me how to interpret the forum permission string that would be great.
