Bada: Yes, they'll work fine with one another -- I have both installed on my test board.

LOL! Whoops my bad guys.. I've got too many plugins, hang on just a second.
Edit: Once again, sorry guys. I've got the "Seperate Sticky Posts" hack right above mine and clicked the wrong Export button. I've uploaded the correct XML file and apologize for the mix up.

Hmm, I never came across this hack when I was searching for similar ones. I suppose the premise is basically the same, but we've both got some variations.

I think my hack is more flexible because you are not limited to colors only.
Also my hack works with all thread types (Standard, Moderated, Sticky, Closed, Poll) thread titles.

@Camuca: The hack is installed as a product. The two plugins I used here are for threadbit_display and forumhome_start. But you don't really need to worry about it unless you wish to modify the hack itself.
@Cybernetec: I don't think it's nice to come into a thread and start promoting your own hack -- regardless of whether or not the two may be similar. I don't see Atakan coming into Zero Tolerance's RSS Feeds Viewer and telling him that his is better... do you? Fact being, this hack is relatively new, a whole 1 day old exactly. It will soon have the capability of displaying more than just "colors" as you say, and as for covering a wider majority of thread types -- we'll see, personally I find coloring Poll threads rather pointless -- they've already got the poll image next to them, but I suppose the same could be argued for Stickied threads too. :p

User asked, I answered. It's not to promote my hack.
Members will always use what they like more, so don't take it wrong ;)

I figured it'd be redundant for Announcements as they're above the rest of the threads, but I can add an option for it.
installed works well thanks!
Good to hear, thank you.
-------------------------------------------
As per Murdo's request, I've updated the hack to now include support for announcements. Unfortunately, I couldn't include an option to remove/color the announcement prefixes as it would mean performing a template edit, and I'm trying to keep the hack plugin only.
Version 1.04 - (6/29/06)
[ADDED] - Capability to color Announcement titles

It's already in the works. ;)
Installed (but could use a change)
Could you add a feature to set an "other" or "normal" thread colour ? Always wanted a different colour for threads over url-links and this has the added bonus of different colour sticky/poll/closed/hot. Great plugin - thank you.
edit : hacked the code a little to do what I needed, sloppy but it works for now awaiting your professional magic fingers :)

We have no use for this as it sits, BUT if you could add a feature where [RESOLVED] or [ANSWERED] threads could be a different color, now that would be really cool ;)
Kirk Y
07-29-2006, 02:06 AM
The hack is based off conditions, unless there is a "resolved" or "answered" condition -- that wouldn't work, at least, not without extensive hacking.

Ok normal threads get their colour from the CSS style, but that colour is also used in many other places. I want my normal threads to be 'white' but a:link to be set on the CSS style sheet.
Maybe the (messy) change I made will explain
Thread Title Coloring
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=117445
In the XML product look for the end of the phpcode section for 'search_results_threadbit' and add before the closing braces
$thread['threadtitle'] = '<span style="color:#FFFFFF">' . $thread['threadtitle'] . '</span>';
Repeat this for 'threadbit_display' php code section

I think I found a problem...
1) Install plugin
2) Remove Sticky Prefix? -> Yes
3) Observe the prefix is removed
4) Remove Sticky Prefix? -> No
ERROR:
The Sticky prefix doesn't come back. The option is saved correctly, but the "Sticky" text doesn't reappear.
Anyone else see this?
