Use this template edit (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=770414&postcount=3) but replace the register.php?referrerid=$bbuserinfo[userid] with

register.php?referrerusername=$bbuserinfo[username]

It does work, I just tested it

you had an if in the wrong place, so I've moved it and reattched the file.
