Should I back up my Database daily ?

I dont know much about protecting forum's database. Should i back up my database daily ? Is there anyway to secure my database ?

I personally do 2 daily backups. Once at work at that computer and then once when I get home - that way if something happens either place, I'm covered. I learned twice to do daily backups (once after a crash and a host I had said they did weekly backups and once after I got hacked pretty bad). Now I don't take chances.
