Just install it again ?

FYI, AFAIK You shouldn't see an option for password encryption if you are installing it to be integrated with vB.

I am with paul. I don't recall ever seeing that option during the integration process. The only thing I could think of would be if you installed the bot and all the goodies it comes with. (I didn't need any of that stuff.) Seeing as I skipped all that, it may have been in there perhaps?

I dont seem to understand.....that seems very difficult and I thought that all i would need to do is call the chat/index.php file from one of my extra pages....

is there no way to do that?...even by creating a plugin?

thanks,
Gamelandz

It's not difficult at all. In fact, it only takes a few minutes to install and it will add usergroup permissions for you. You asked how I did it on my site, that is how. (Then I went in and made my own stuff for it.)

Give that a whirl.

rich,
that did work out!!

except:

1. anybody can log on using any name they want
2. how can i restrict only registered users
3. how can it be setup that if you are already logged in....you automatically get logged in when you go to the chat

thanks,
gamelandz

After you installed the modification adding the flashchat to a vb page, you need to go into vBulletin Options in the acp and set which usergroups are allowed to view that page.

Set those permissions and see if it takes care of the other issues. Users should already be logged in using their screenname from the site if they have the permission to view that page.

i have set the permissions...so now only registered users can view the flashchat page......but....registered users can still log in as anybody they want.

example:
i log in as "joe".....but i can log into the chat as "jeff"

any ideas?

You haven't installed it as integrated with vbulletin.

ok...here is what i did:

1. install flashchat with vb selected
---everything worked as it should
2. did this https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=91278
3. did this https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=100317
4. restricted the flashchat page to users
5. registered users can still log in as anybody they want.

what should i do....or what should i have done differently?

thanks for the help...

you made the classic mistake of not seeing the little box that you need to check to integrate it with a cms. it happened to me the first time in installed it too. took me like an hour to figure out why it wasnt working. i felt really silly once i figured all i needed to do was find that little box :)

ok...so the problem was this:

1. i installed flashchat 1st...with the vB correct.....then i did the integrration

2. what i should have done (and just did) is do the integration files first....and then install flashchat....

NOW EVERYTHING WORKS LIKE A CHARM!!!!

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!

VBROCKS!!!!!
