Seems like I use the PM system here much more seriously than I do on any other site . As I have done my best to learn I have contacted many established coders here via PM and gotten lots of very helpful responses. This is one of the reasons I appreciate the PM Preview hack being installed here and am thankful it was installed as a result of a member suggestion. (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=110036)
My PM box is now nearly full and I need to clear it out. I would like to archive my messages into my email client.
My email client prefers mbox format for importing (as do many others out there.)
So, is there any chance that Andreas' excellent Download PM in mbox format (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=91269) addition can be installed here?
Please.
It's simple and unobtrusive and will help your members with their correspondence, learning, research and later review.

mbox is a native UN*X mail format. It is the most universally-compatible format that allows for importing into desktop mail clients.
On a Mac, for example, mbox files import far more readily into Mail.app or Entourage 2004 than TXT, CSV or XML.

I read somewhere that it would, using the Import Wizard. The .mbox file might need to be massaged first by some freeware utility, I'm not sure. What I do know is that mbox is the industry standard (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Projects/InteroperationExperimentsProposal) (ie: non-proprietary) format for mailbox files, just like vCard is for contacts and iCal is for calendar files.
At the very least... Netscape (free) can read mbox format mail. Outlook Express (also free) can import from Netscape. Outlook Express can export to Outlook.
So, mbox is sort of the de-facto file standard in the email space... offer it here and it will allow many more people to easily import their PM mailbox into their desktop email client. Or even Gmail, via this loader app. (http://www.marklyon.org/gmail/)
Xenon, thanks for the positive reaction, I'll bump to remind as necessary.

Okay. It doesn't really matter to me anymore but thanks for the reply anyway.

Aaahhhh. What a relief. All of my older PMs are now imported into my desktop email client for easy sorting and later reference.
And my PM box is now empty.
