Where can I get the hacks (and/or ones like it) like the hacks page setup at vbulletin.org?

http://www.vbulletin.org/hacks/hacks.php

I really like this setup, and would like to run some pages off like it on my site?

it's not hard to make something like that. try doing it yourself and learn php so that way you can make anything you want therefor you don't need to keep asking others to make it and then having to wait a long time.

obviously, but this hack is DONE, and the fact he won't share, kinda brings me down. . .

Um, ditto what Kier said, and then *smack*! Since when is someone supposed to give you something for free just cause you ask? Do you walk into stores, grab some stuff, and say to the clerk "Since these are already made I'm just gonna take 'em"??? Come on...be realilistic. Just as you can't expect Microsoft to give you the latest version of Windows just cause it's DONE, you can't expect someone to give you a script they made for their site.

Edit: I thought wluke posted the message about vB2...must be seeing things...

Hey, don't frown at me. I just seem to have a different look on issues, a more open one. I never said that he HAD to give it to me, I was just kinda shocked that he didn't. Please, a little respect people . . . .

That's exactly what I mean. Why were you shocked? I understand the whole open-source thing, but I don't really see why it could be so surprising when you couldn't find it in the forums here or vbulletin.org. If it had been released, you probably would have found it. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just saying I really can't understand why you're so shocked.

If you look at any other software, for example Links SQL from www.gossamer-threads.com people want to charge you for the smallest hack (mod) they make, we ought be gratefull that people like Ed, Kier, Freddie and others put their time and effort to release the great FREE hacks we use now!

PS. Try using BFC weblog, it's not the same, but I think it's on the same path!

Exactly. so what if it's done. big whoop. go make one on your own since you also agreed it's easy so then you can take pride in that. just because it's done doesn't mean it needs to go public. i for one have a few hacks on my upcoming board that i will not release. there's a reason why some ppl don't want to release it. it's so that they can have a unique feature on their site. i won't release many things that i use because what's the point of making it if you're gonna give it away to lots of other ppl so they can make a site almost identical with same features. think about it, if you have a great hack nobody else does would you release it. think before you say yes.
