Why can't I attach files in my posts?

hi all, i am having this strange problem. till last week, i had no probs regarding attachments.

but now, i am unable to attach files larger than 97KB. i used to get the "HTTP Error 406". i looked around on the vB.com site and found out that this is coz of the mod_security apache module. so i asked my Hosting company to turn this off for my site.

now i am not getting the 406 error, but i am getting an error as "Upload of file failed." for files larger than 97KB

can anyone help me out with this problem?

Did you check your attachments sizes in the Admin CP? ;)

yeah i did, i allow max size of 1MB for all extensions.
