Signed Posts V2.0, Nick names

Signed Posts v2.0, Nick names
By: Infantrymen
Works for Vb 3.0-3.6
Easy, about 5-10 mins

There are a lot of members that like to add their name after each post. Some add their name to the signature, but on my site I'm using the "only one signature per post hack" so that isn't an option. This is a very simple way to add a members name to each post as if they've "signed" it. It will add it to the post instead of having a line over it in a signature... :)

Unlike the first version this one allows your members to type in the name they would like to use instead of it automatically adding their Username. They simply edit thier profile and add the name they would like to use. Their Nick name will also show up in their member profile for others to see.

* This version uses a profile field textbox that the users can update and add any text wanted. The other version is their username only.

If you like this hack you may want to consider installing this one after: Nick Names V1.0 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=115097)

Please make sure you click INSTALL if you use it.

Some user's like to use smilies with their name also, like my forums I've made smilies for specific user's that they sometimes use along with name. Will smilie's show if added next to their name in the profile field?

I don't think they would, their name would show up as text... If you have it set up so it might in other places I 'might' be able to tell you how to add it here, if you can post the code you use and link to your site (I will be gone until the 5th so I'll take a look at it then..) I'll look at it..
