Creating a new "options group" for use with custom profile fields

Can anyone point me to instructions for creating a new options group in modyoptions template? (searching hasn't brought anything up)

I can do the template HTML easily enough, but I'd like to be able to integrate so it appears as a new "Display Page" option when creating new profile fields.
