hmm, not that easy, as the updated is calculated after the actual query....
i'll think about, maybe i get an idea, without to much rewrite ;)
OK cause I am sick of checking each site ;).

Sorry?
i think i don't get what you mean with the last question
Just an idea how it can be done...if it can.Not sure about that much
Any progress? ;)

Well they could always use the personal stickies hack and just have the user installed hacks stickie themselves to the top of the forum. This would also allow for a user to unstick a hack they don't want on top.
Just an idea.
Again,
Any progress?
AS you know many people have lots of hacks installed and many are not 'bumped' to the top when updated!

well, and as you know, we have also a life beyond vb.org and this feature request is not one on my top list of my to do.
if there will be progress, you will notice it, as long as there isn'T there isn't
Sorry if I was nasty.Didn't mean so.We all have life beyond.......;)

I wouldn't recommend doing it. Attention seeking modifiers would 'update' their script by doing minor, unnecessary things just to get their code at the top of the list.

Amy, Shhhh! I had plans for the smallest changes to even my old vb2 hacks. :cross-eyed:

You've ruined Bob's plan for World Domination now!!! :(
He was going to take over the world, one "updated" hack at a time... :(
Chris
Ermmm....I meant that this would bump the updated hacks in search for installed hacks not hacks listing

What would be more help would be this. If the author updates a mod, the status should show red 'updated' until we click a button that says we updated our board. (the button doesn't need to notify the author. just mark it for our own use) Then, when he updates again, the mod would go red again - indicating another update. As it stands now, it's useless for multiple updates.

I have no idea what Amy just said, but I agree with her general view that this is not needed - I can see which hacks have been updated just fine - in the list of hacks I have installed - the bright red sticks out a mile.

It should be a matter of just caching the output instead of outputting it immediately.
So right now there is a 'bit' template and you eval it evertime as you walk through the query results. Somewhere in there you determine if there is an update.
So, add the eval results to two different variables - $install_output and $update_output, and then don't actually output them until you've stepped through all the results.
Pretty minor change really.

What I said Paul is that the red should go away once we install the update. And the red should come back if the author updates the mod again. :D

What I said Paul is that the red should go away once we install the update. And the red should come back if the author updates the mod again. :DIsn't that what happens now ? AFAIK, that's how it works. :)

not from what I'm seeing. Everything seems to stay red. Dunno. I'll look at it again in a bit. What do you expect from a woman who averages 3 hours of sleep a night?

That is how it works though. :)

well I read the first page, gave up on the second, so appologies if i'm repeating a point...
but I do agree with the initial poster, I would love to see this implemented... I have 3 pages of hacks installed, not that all are actually installed but they're hacks i've had instaled previously, or are going to install again... but when I go to 'userCP > Installed Hacks', I have to browse 3 pages just to see what is updated. I know we get emails but some times that isn't a convinient time and we forget about it... Updates hacks being up the top of our install hacks would be so must easier without haven't to look through pages....

That is exactly what I said.It can be done pretty easy by just adding another query that selects from database installed hacks ordered by updated stats :p

So at last whats been made as a decision?
I guess no one is considering this.lol come on.A simple order by in the db query would do it :p

It's not as simple as that, and there are no plans to change it.
Alright. So I guess this can be closed than.Thank you for reading :)

I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that plans do sometimes change, and updated mods should now be listed first.
