Automatically add new users to an additional secondary group

I'd like to make a 'noobie' home page that is only shown to a secondary group. Once the person isn't a 'noobie', they could remove themselves from the group and see the normal home page.

I just need a way to get everyone who registers into a secondary group automatically.
