Want To Release A Mod

I want to release a Mod from the 3.0 series that I recoded for 3.5. Well port it over I mean. However the original author hasnt been online since December 2005. I know I should be asking permissions.

What should I do?

You can't release it as a "new mod". If you haven't got the permission of the author, you can't release it with some of the original files attached. The only way to release this is releasing it in the Code Modifications forum with no original files attached, but with a list of all the necessary edits :) .

So if it requires a lot of edits, it won't be very easy. It has been discussed before (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=109496).

Depends who you ask - I know at least one mod that was redone for 3.5 and released anyway as the original person could not be contacted.
