adsense and private forums?

i'm not very familiar with VB (i just switched to it 2 days ago from ipb) but in ipb, they have bot options where you can set a list of bots based on IP to inherit 'members' permissions.
i'm not sure how vb sets it up yet.

What I did was create a group called googleadbot and added the bot's user to this group and gave it permission to view everywhere but content sensitive area.
