Any way to warn users if someone else posted a reply while they were typing?

I've seen this on SMF boards: If someone else has posted a reply while I was typing one, I get a message that says so - and suggests I might want to look at the reply before posting mine.

Is there a hack/mod/plugin available to achieve this?

Make it AJAXy so you don't lose the content of your post with the warning and you've got yourself a sexy hack right there.

Just some more info on it. When you run into that issue in SMF you get a link that shows you the other guy's post...then you have the option to either
1. post your post anyway, or
2. Continue editing your post.

I came from a SMF forum and this was a VERY useful feature. If SMF can code it, surely someone here can.

The suggestion/request here is for something else... an alert that "more posts have been made while you were typing."
