Stripping EXIF data

Does anyone know how to strip exif data from attachments as they are uploaded?

I searched and couldn't find anything.

looks like I have to add something to /includes/class_upload.php so that attachments are run through imagemagick convert -strip and converted to 99% of their size before added to the database

any ideas folks?
