Character to Replace Censored Words

I am an admin at buffalorange.com. My mods have been asking me if there is any way we have have a whole work replace censored words instead of simply a character. Right now the string of characters keep repeating, I want it where it will just show the replacement word once.

Is there anyways to do this?

You can replace an entire word with your own custom selection.

Pardon my naivete, but what do you mean by replacement variable? Where can you set it? I have a whole set of "banned words" that the mods want to change to our own "custom" word.

In your Admincp on left bar locate this:
Styles & Templates -> Replacement Variable Manager -> [Add New Replacement Variable]

Search for Text - xyz
Replace with Text - abc

All your posts/pms/signatures displaying 'xyz' will be replaced with 'abc' :)

Thanks! This is what I've been looking for! I want my site to be 'family friendly' as it is related to dogs and many of my target audience are mothers and fathers who like to share the pictures with their children =)
