A Hack I need. Without it I am lost

Hey guys. I have been looking here,
and this is what I want.

I want to include news on the fronmt page of my site (index.shtml)

I saw where someone did this with activetopics.
Does anyone know if this hack exists?

All you need to do is read through the posts.

I still use one from 1.x that works fine.

Do a search for BFC weblog and the latest more complex vbportal AKA vb shell

i'm working on a new version of soemthing similar to vbportal but it'll inclued side bars, news, polls, active lists and lots more things all controled from a admin section of the vb and at the bottom of the page. (hidden admin options). It'll be done in 2-4 days.
