I never wrote php code before until I wanted my vbulletin forum to have tagging support, At the time (March 2006), tagging plugins for vBulletin were virtually nonexistent. Hunting around the web, the only thing I could find was boardtracker.com with phpbb support and doesn’t come built into forum.
So I figured “it’s just a little php – I can do it.” Many, many hours later, I had a initial version to release into my forum last month with below core features:
* Tag any thread with an unlimited number of tags(use spaces to separate tags,ajax with no refresh page,autocomplete)
* List all the tags associated with an thread
* List all threads tagged with a given tag
* List top 5 tags associated with an thread in forumdisplay thread list
* Generate a popular tag cloud or simple tag list in any period (1 day, 1 week, ...)
* Generate a top tag contribution user cloud in any period (1 day, 1 week, ...)
...
Since that time, I’ve been too busy to consider contributing this feature to vbulletin community. To publish this feature as plugin , I’m aware of some homework to be done :
* transfer Chinese to english
* adminstration and configuration UI in control panel
* clear a number of bugs and annoyances to much simpler and beautiful code.
I like to know it's meaningful to support this plugin in the vBulletin community.
