Using the same phrase in more than one place

Suppose I want to use the same phrase in more than one place. For example, on the forumview (list of threads) and on the search results. I could duplicate the thread in the "Forum Display" and in the "Searching" phrase groups, or I guess I could just put it once in the GLOBAL group. Which method is better?

I find using the global group for custom phrases to be easiest.
