Minimum Length Required for Thread Title
This is my first plugin for 3.5.x so please be gentle ;)
Purpose: Stop users from starting a new thread unless the title has more than X number of characters, which you can specify from the vB settings area.
Instructions: Download the zip file and unpack it. You should find the .xml file there. Go to your vB admin > Plugin System > Manage Products > Add/Import Product and upload it there. That's it. The default plugin requires 30 characters for the thread title but you can change this in the vB settings menu.
If you use this hack please click here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=111101) to tell vB.org you've installed it and show your support :)

I have made a modification to this, so if someone does "Hello............" it will strip off all those ... before it does the count. Basically it reduces the number of .... anywhere in the string to just three. If anyone wants this as well then PM me or reply here and I'll package it up.

I was reading the request area and found this.. does this support the max limit in the plugin as well?

No, this only deals with the minimum length. To do the maximum length you just need to edit your newthread template and put in a maxlength variable. If you need full instructions then let me know, but it's just a template edit for that.

I tried installing according to installation instructions. Used product manager to import as product and received the following error:
XML Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at Line 1
Has anyone else received this error or have any idea how I can get it fixed?

Did you unzip the package first?

My mistake and a very stupid one at that. Thank you for pointing out the problem and thank you for writing such a useful plugin. I now have it installed and tested so I am clicking INSTALL.

This is helpful. Thanks. Is it possible to do a minimum for the actual post as well?

Sure, that's a default feature.
Go to AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Message Posting and Editing Options > Minimum Characters Per Post

Yes but I am looking for it on a per forum basis. I just realized that yours is across the entire site too.

Anyone know if this will work with vb3.6.4?

Let me know if it doesn't.

3.6.x version now online at:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=136627
It includes the feature of ignoring people who try to cheat with lots of "........". If you want to use it in 3.5.x then download the 3.6 version but remove "executionorder" code from the .xml file before importing.
