Need suggestions on how to fix breadcrumbs..

I had a friend do the original layout for our boards and have been coding/managing them since however I am trying to fix something and can not figure out how.

I'm wondering if you guys could at least point me to "where" I should be trying to modify the code I'm having trouble with so I dont mess around with something that I shouldn't be.

We moved the breadcrumbs to the top of the page and have a custom navigation template.

MY problem is that the "yellow" Rgister button expands the "bar" way to much. When your registered and logged in..everything lines up perfectly but before you log in there is to much space above the header.

I dont know if I should just remove the "registration" button or to try to get it to line up with the other links. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can make this work better?

PS In IE the space is much worse then in FF. If you need to see the code of any of the templates let me know and I'll post them.
