Anyone know what could be wrong? I tried playing with all the search options, but nothing seemed to fix it.

No matter what you type in it finds no results.

Anyone know what I could try?

Thanks

Maybe your searchindex is broken

got to update counters and try to reindex it

or if you use full text search, check if the indexes are set correctly

phpmyadmin check if there are fulltext indexes on post/thread table

I'm having almost the exact same problem, but with a twist that seems to be tangentially related to vB Drupal. I posted about it here just now (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=928227#post928227).

Basically, my search.php can find nothing except for two comments originally posted via vb Drupal, which I have since uninstalled. (The comments are still around, but are reverted to regular posts.)

The search can find text if they're in these comments posted during the two days while they were part of the blog, but noplace else. Even replies to those comments are not getting found.

Anyway, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me, as I'm nearing completion of my upgrade from vb2 and this has truly got me tearing my hair out. UGH!

Thank you Xenon. I don't know if there is or not... here is what I see in phpmyadmin:

For Post table:

Hey, I actually figured this out. Notsonormal, maybe this will work for you?

In the Forum Manager, within each individual forum's settings, I happened across an option called "Index New Posts in Search Engine." Apparently the default is off. By turning it on, suddenly posts were searchable. Duh! to me, right? :) Now I have to go into each forum and make this switch.

I'd never spotted this option before. (In my meager defense, vb3 is still new to me.) But geeze, does it strike anyone else as kinda annoying and bass-ackwards that by default, forums are not indexed? Not to mention only putting this option within the forum manager, rather than the vbulletin options area as a global option (that's able to be set individually as well)?

Weird. Anyway, Notsonormal, check each forum's settings and see if this option is available to you. Good luck.
