This is probably quite simple up to a point.
Instead of the normal quoting system in private messages it would be cool to view and reply to them in the same way that emails are viewed ... All the quote boxes stacking up get confusing after a while.
Example
Hi member
this is my NEW message, I am sending you a reply, blach blabla blah de blah de blah
regards Me
--- original message - sent 28 Feb ---
This is the second reply to a message that is being replied to and so on and on and on ..

However, the clever bit would be in cropping off the end of the message when it reached the maximum amount
