dang it, you should make these multiple votes.
world map, ajax and plugin accelerator would get my votes.

I guess since I can't vote for 3 I'll choose plugin accelerator because it benefits everyone.

Tri-tto for te Ajax Registration System, of course I love the idea of the plugin compresion, but with the amount of bug I run into with plugins, dont want another variable to deal with, good idea though :bunny:

If uShop wins it won't be fair. From what I remember a Hack couldn't be in 2 months in a row.

Well, since you mention that, even if it doesn't win, it still wouldn't be fair, I suppose.

Its votes would have gone to others. And in a race this tight, every vote counts.

You don't win a poll and so you quit the site, yanking your mods? I'll miss some of your work, but not your ego. Good luck with that.

vedman, it's got nothing to do with not winning a poll. Read a bit, and learn about the zeitgeist of a community before making a judgmental and sarcastic comment, why doncha?

Talk about ego... good luck with that.

From your post history, it appears that I offended a die-hard fan of his. I know he has many... but I have my own opinion. I sincerely hope my low post count didn't give you the impression that I'm just some forum noob talking out of his ass.

First off, I've done my research now, and I apologize for jumping to conclusions regarding the reason for his departure. A comment made earlier on this page (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=985585&postcount=53) made perfect sense to me, given his second place finish and his prior temperament in his threads.

You are incorrect if you assumed that I referenced his ego in my judgmental and sarcastic comment just for the hell of it, or to troll at random. I do not do that. I did so because as generous as he has been in providing mods for the community, he is usually under the impression that he is never wrong when someone points out a bug in his code. His repeated arrogance in the past is the sole reason I took the opportunity to make the comment that I did. The ArticleBot RSS Feed Poster (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=site%3Awww.vbulletin.org+ArticleBot+JumpD+100269&btnG=Search) thread is one that immediately comes to mind as a prime exhibition of his talent mixed with arrogance.

In my book, a little humility is a must. No one is perfect, and to be honest I'd rather see a coder that gives zero support over one that can't admit his mistakes. On this site, in which coders generously provide hacks and mods and templates for all to use free of charge, it seems rather contradictory for an author to shun user feedback and opinions. It makes no sense at all, actually; why would you bother writing/posting mods if you can't stand hearing anything other than "Great mod, it's perfect!", when it's not? I love getting feedback from my users, and I may blush when someone finds a bug, but I'm glad they tell me (even publically) because it helps me perfect the software. I sure as hell don't brush off feedback and tell them they're wrong.

You may disagree or not even care what attitudes authors carry with them as long as they provide the goods, but I do care, and JumpD's holier-than-thou attitude is the reason for my post (and the reason I'm not shedding a tear over his departure).

BTW, after reading the threads that discuss his mods disappearing, it is apparent that JumpD did indeed help many people here. This is not an attack on any of them; I just had a different experience with him. So it goes.

Code Monkey
05-24-2006, 02:36 AM
You have never had an experience with me. At least not under the account you are using. Other than that, I am not going to comment because I know I don't deserve that trash talk and so do the hundreds and hundreds of people I spent late nights working out bugs for or help get things working even though it was their own error that caused the problem. So do the many many people who I went and fixed things for directly on their servers at no charge.

Have a nice day.

Because it couldn't have been a mistake in your hack. :D

vvv Your English is bad. The "even" applies to both instances of the or. Also, it should be "neither do the hundreds and hundreds of people". Plus, it should be "helped get things working".

Code Monkey
05-24-2006, 04:35 AM
yeah, that would be covered by the first part of the sentance. The part before the "or" that you chose not to bold.
