I'm sure many of you experience leechers when it comes to individuals that want to sign up just for download capabilities on your site or maybe another feature you have (i.e. Arcade). So here's my question:
Can I limit the download permissions for members by a minimum post count, rep points, or something like that?
For example; Can I make it so that a member can't use the download section until they have made a minimum post of 20 or 25? I'm sure tis is easy but I wasn't able to figure it out.
Thanks in advance...

Remove download permissions from the default registered users group and create a new usergroup that has download permissions, then add a promotions rule that adds people to that group when they have the required posts, rep etc.

Thank you. Worked like a charm.
Sorry for the "beginner question" but that's one I won't have to ask again, lol.

hate to hijack here.. but i was over at vb.com and this change wont have immediate .. it can take up to an hour depending on the task for promotions in the ACP .. or is there a quicker and less complicated way to make this work out?
thanks in advance and sorry to threadjack

Well, right after I made the change, my test account was not able to download and that was less than 20 seconds after. The section that says (every hour) I believe is referring more to when the promotions will be updated from that point on.
