DownloadsII vBadvanced CMPS Add-On
Version 1.0.1

The DownloadsII vBadvanced CMPS Add-On, is not a stand-alone mod. It requires DownloadsII 5.0.1 or higher. You can find it here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=120122) (free).
Also vBadvanced CMPS (a vBulletin 3.5.x or 3.6.x version) is required. You can find it here (http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.php?do=productinfo&p=4) (free).

Installation


Upload downloads2.php to the module directory of vBadvanced CMPS
Create the new module using the drop down menu to select downloads2.php
In the "templates used" field enter 'adv_portal_ecdownloads, downloads_panel_bit' (without the quotation marks ofcourse)
Update your index pages(s) to show the new module

Oops! You are correct. I had an extra space after the last ?>. Either edit your ecdownloads.php file to remove it or upload the corrected file. (I've replaced the original file with the corrected file in my first post.)

Is there a way to have the downloads section list as a "page" module in CMPS instead of going directly to a whole new page? I would like to keep my CMPS parts on the left with the Downloads on the right. I couldn't figure out how to get that to work. Any help would be appreciated.

I have 3.6 and vbA, downloads II v5.02 and this v5.0 add-on installed. I would like the width of this module to be the same width as the other modules like "stats" and "calender" etc. But this module is wider. How can I fix this?

Just an identifier you choose yourself, for example downloads or something else :)

@churton: I don't see the purpose of such a feature? When you compare it with your forums: you aren't going to create a list of the 5 people who posted the latest forum posts, but it's normal to create a top posters ranking.

2) Can the info about latest files be put in the center, above latest threads in forum (www.glhelp.org). And then have top contributors and such on the side blocks.

Try the Update Counters link in the DownloadsII navigation (downloads.php), maybe that solves the problem. If it doesn't, please create a new admin account on your site and pm me the info, also the FTP login would be useful to check your files :)

I had this once too, but this was because I uploaded the file twice. First time I didn't see I had to approve, so I saw already an issue like this.
That's a little problem that uploading the exact file twice is possible, there is no check. Maybe this could be fixed in a future version too?

If you didn't upload twice then I think you have to do what RS Jelle is saying.

I fixed it, the problem occured because i had 2 blocks. The first one i made would not show up no matter what i did so i made another.

Anyway the block that showed up also seemed to include the data for the first invisible block as so had 2 lots of the same info in it.

I just deleted the invisible block and the data is back to normal.

There's no way to do that right now. The only thing that even comes close is you could use the "Assign Uploader" function to change the Contributer from you to the real Contributer.

This works fine with vBulletin 3.6.7 PL1, but I didn't upgraded to vBa CMPS 3.0 since it's only a first RC release (not a final one). But as we are only using basic vBa functionality, I would be very suprised if it wasn't compatible (so 99,99% chance it works).

As it IS in a table, you can do this pretty easier :D
In each case: you have to change the adv_portal_ecdownloads template.

Change (two times)

to

For the Top Contributors, the table is slightly different:

But again, just set the border attribute to 1 :)

That's normal as there are more columns now (normally there's just one), so the table header needs to have a colspan attribute as it's only one column. This is very easy with vBa CMPS, just change the module "Title Row Colspan" setting. Set its value to 3 :)

You can't upload it using the AdminCP :D
You need to upload it using FTP to your /forums/modules/ folder, where all the PHP files of the vBa CMPS modules are located. The AdminCP upload feature is meaned for .module files, but we don't use that.

That's because of the too long file names in the module. You can change some things in the adv_portal_ecdownloads template, but that won't solve it complete.

To solve it complete you need to edit some PHP:
Open /includes/class_downloads.php
Find $name = addslashes($latest['name']); (two times)
Change to $name = substr(addslashes($latest['name']), 0, 15); (two times)

Is there a way to have the downloads section list as a "page" module in CMPS instead of going directly to a whole new page? I would like to keep my CMPS parts on the left with the Downloads on the right. I couldn't figure out how to get that to work. Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't tests v3 yet, as I didn't have the time for it and it's not yet a final release (it's an RC, Release Candidate).

Then you only need to turn off the column in the DownloadsII options. But for removing them from the home page of DownloadsII, you need to edit downloads.php (at the end of the file).

There you will find:

That's because the same templated is used two times. For the second module, create a new template next to adv_portal_ecdownloads, for example adv_portal_ecdownloads2.
Then open /modules/downloads2.php and change adv_portal_ecdownloads in it to your other template and give the module another name (for example downloads3.php), so you have two modules :)

That's a vB Phrase, so you can edit it using AdminCP -> Languages & Phrases
The phrase variable of it is ecdownloads_navigation

Or you can edit the downloads_wrapper_none, downloads_wrapper_side and downloads_wrapper_top templates, where it is used in ({$vbphrase['ecdownloads_navigation']}).

Since I only want certain members to see the block on the side after they log in. Which I have done already. I was also wondering one of two things. In the Site Navigation module, is it possible to have one of the links inside of that module only viewable to a certain usergroup. If not, is there a way that I can make the header of the Downloads block a link to the downloads.php page?

For Example: I titled the Downloads module "File Cabinet". Is it possible to make the words File Cabinet" at the top of the module block into a link that goes to downloads.php. This way only those people with permissions to visit the File Cabinet may see the link to get there. This way I don't have to make a new button for the navbar at the top. Which actually, I would like to do but don't know how to edit the navbar buttons for usergroup permissions. Any of the solutions, would be great.

Edit: Nevermind on the link in the module. I figured it out. I just changed the title of the module to "<a href="http://www.hswaves.com/forum/downloads.php">File Cabinet</a>"

"Templates used" looks wrong, you've got this there:

field enter 'adv_portal_ecdownloads, downloads_panel_bit'

which should become:

adv_portal_ecdownloads, downloads_panel_bit

For adding it to the pages you want, just use the edit page feature and enable the downloads2 module.

Have to first declare I love this mod, great work guys =)

Now theres a slight problem i run into. When i use this add on, im displaying the "latest downloads/top contributors etc block" on the left side of my main homepage, which wraps around my whole forum and this is the look i want to keep when pple go from page to page.

When i click to go to my downloads.php area, (which i integrated) i see a duplicate(which makes total sense) - theres the "latest downloads/top contributors etc block" from the wrapper on the left, and again on the main download page.

Since i already had the "latest downloads/top contributors etc block" in my wrapper and dont need it to display again on the downloads main page, is there a way to stop it from displaying and just display the categories?

jelle i used ur code on page 7, turns out i need to remove another batch of code cause when i click on a category, the "top block" gets displayed again. i tried looking in the downloads.php file but i honestly have no clue what to remove.
