The title says it all. User webcam system, displays on the profiles, and adds a "LIVE / OFFLINE" in the postbit/legacy. Users register their cam with the system, and it goes into a directory perhaps, or maybe the MEMBERLIST can just have a new sort option, and only show cams.

Could be Universally Innovative. :)

How do you suggest that could work? Most webcams are use in conjunction with services that broadcast the feed, ie. yahoo, msn, aim and so on; otherwise they would have to:

1. Host their own webcam server via the webcam software they use at most likely their IP.

2. How would you globally manage a "live/offline" system that is handled automatically and guaranteed to work with every system.

The only way I see this being viable is to create a standard by which each user with a webcam must adhere by.. that being a certain software, or a certain protocol for dealing with online/offline; other than that a rather simplistic modification.

ya could do it in flash like this
http://www.camdatepro.com/demo/camdateprodemo/

but i dont think its possible to run webcams without your own server as a backbone to generate the streams like you want and webcams sites are costly streaming video aint cheap

and if you can afford webcam streaming your best bet would get a paid programmer to design something strictly for your site
