How do I the link target in showthread?

How or where do I change the target window for links that are in a post? Currently, all links open new windows for any link in someone's post. I would like it to open in the current window instead.

Where is the code that creates the new window parameter in the link? Or is there a setting somewhere I can adjust?

I could have sworn it was in a template.

The worst thing is it is hard coded into handle_bbcode_url() around line 1705 in includes/class_bbcode.php
