I can't afford to pay $22 after buying vbulletin, and the lite version doesn't work for me because of the option for only one image, users can't upload a copy of a album cover, so it just doesn't work for me
Is there any alternative?
Something else that I could deal with is maybe something where a post by an ADMIN in one forum is highlighted, or posted in a different font color
I don't want all the posts I make on my forums to be bolded or red or larger but I would like it that way in the reviews forum if I cannot find a sufficient plugin

Photopost.com has their own photoreview that integrated with vb.
Hello,
If he can't afford the cheap price of $22.00 he certainly can't afford anything from photopost! The photopost review system is like $99.00.
Your best bet is to save the $22.00 or borrow it and grab GARS. Its a great review system and the price can't be beat for the functionality that it has!

i dont make money on my site, and i've already bought vbulletin for it....theres no use in me spending $22 more that i won't see just so my users can have some extra organization, it's not logical for me

Then you are unlikely to get what you want.

Exactly. We're still in the construction phase, but don't intend to use ads or run for-profit programs. We decided that an article system was important and found a doner. Ultimately, GARS is a great system that is well worth the cost. Given all the work that was put into it, its not reasonable to expect it to be a free add-on. To expect something comparable without any pricetag is nuts. You (original poster) should be happy that as many hacks remain free as currently do. There are many coders here like Paul who could easily charge for his mods too. So really, its not fair to complain.

I guess I have to weight into this. The biggest problem I am having is that with all the costs, licenses, fee's and stuff, it's starting to get real expensive, and not only don't I have the money to pay for programs that I need, it's very hard to justify the expensive when I have a small site, receive no revenue, and could use the money for more important things.
I had to make a decision, because I had to move servers last week, whether or not to keep VB, or go with another forum. Though I decided to keep VB, I was very tempted to drop it completely, because a lot of the "paid" stuff available I could find quite easily as freeware with the other software. If you don't have the money, then it's a bit fustrating. I can understand authors wanting to make money and all, but there's no "free" article system either as a alternative, and these "light" versions, well, I can get a lot better with phpbb, so that's why I'm tempted.
I have invested a lot of money in VB, but I worked it out, and it will cost me 300 plus every year just to reup everything I have already, and it's a bit hard to justify that considering I have a site with maybe 100 members (It's private site)
VB is the best, but sometimes, it gets pretty hard to justify the additional costs, let alone add to them. My next move, I'm pretty sure I will move over to another system, because I just can't afford it, and there are some things I really would like to have for my site

please don't put words in my mouth, in no way was I complaining whatsoever. I simply said I cannot afford to buy addons when I just bought vbulletin for $85, on a site in which i recieve no profit. I asked for alternatives, in no way was I complaining.
