is there a way to only allow certain usergroup the ability to post links and images?

seems a much requested option, and I'd like to implement this aswell..

Well, there are two options. You could this hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=96018) which disallows posting links and images for members with fewer than 15 posts. Or, you could use Advanced BBCode Permissions (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=103747) which allows you to restrict any and all BBCode usage based on usergroups.
