I really need journals for my board. Is there a chance that I've missed this add-on?
Is there one forthcoming?
Is there some outside product that I can use???

How about a pay one? I like the idea of vbjournal but it sounds like it is buggy and has little to no support.

That what scares me, too. It's been in beta forever...
Does anyone know what's being used here? (see the blogs link on the right side of the page)

vBDrupal is a hack here that integrates a member blog feature into VB...works pretty well. :)

The PHP5 issue is really trivial (change two templates) - except that there are no known critical bugs.
I fore one use this in a production environment (board gets 10 million+ PI/month)

Erm, I did that this morning and the FIRST mention of "Journal" was on page 12 !!
The second time I tried 'vbjournal', it was on the first page, but very well down the list. Is it just me, or is the search facility here not quite cutting the mustard..
(and yes, I have read the sticky about searching..:D)

I am looking for JUST a blog facility to my forum. I don't want to remake everything in order to have a simple blog functionality.
vBDrupal, vBJournal are CMS systems with a little add-on for user blogging. Shall I buy entire New York City to drive there???

(and yes, I have read the sticky about searching..:D)when searching for a particular mod go to ADVANCED SEARCH and choose "Search titles only" ... the default setting is "Search entire posts"

That's because the search bases it's results on last posts made in a thread rather than keyword relevance(word?)

but you also warn with the release that it doesn't work well on mysql 4.1

WordPress has released WordPress MU (multi-user).
There's also the hope of this:
