this is another question or information thread that I have questions about..

When I bought or leased should say, my vB I already had a forum and a strong topic that I wanted to forum to display..

My question is to everyone,, did u have a topic and have you stuck with it on your vB ??

most ppl will say yes I know and I hope some ppl answer that have changed their forum topics..

since I've been at vb.org I've seen a few sites but one comes to mind, This site has had 3-4 different topics and it seems the admin deleted the entire board and starts fresh each time, losing what ever members had signed up before, just fr them to come back thinking they are chatting about " houses" to see their forum is about "painting" now..lol

these are just examples to what I've seen, but I'm sure there are other Admins out there that have changed their forum topic..

If you have changed, pls reply and explain why you would want to change ? and
When u did change topics, did u delete everything, or use the original DB..

Why do you ask Loco, are you thinking of changing your sites topic?

I suppose what you have to remember is people run a board to get members at the end of the day which ever way you look at it, and if there original site topic seems to be going nowhere fast like they thought it would, or maybe they've losed interest and can see it's just not working out as expected.

Sometimes it can be a wise move to spot a niche and change the site topic to suit it. But then there are people who just setup a board based around there hobby and don't really care how long it takes to attract new members.

Each person is different as to why they run a board. Some people do it to make cash from adds, some do it based around there hobby, some do it to sell there goods like skins. So it depends really and everybody is different. Plus some people are much more patient than others in giving it more time to pick up.

Why if you want to change topic on your site, go for it - you paying the bill to get a busy board at the end of the day.
