Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.
For some reason my subscriptions stopped working - cURL and streams pass, but users don't get upgraded when they buy in.
I have tried manually running the scheduled subscriptions task, the usergroup is allowed to override the default usergroup... I'm lost.
I had my server hardened and a few security things done, but I think it should work since curl is working. help please!

I'll second this.
The system worked, Paypal and Nochex being used, then just stopped working and members are no longer upgraded.
There were no hacks or changes to the board or server at the time it stopped working.
To compound it, the forum leaders link suddenly stopped working as well and now when you click view forum leaders 4 times out of 5 the page just takes an age to reload and then stays at the front page or 1 in 5 get:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1832882 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/jamboskickback.co.uk/httpdocs/showgroups.php(184) : eval()'d code on line 13
I also hope this is in the right place, not been long with vB.

10ofhearts, did your problems come after you upgraded to 3.5.3?
I'm not sure about your forum leaders problem, mine is working fine.

I had this same problem. I edited my Scheduled task -> Subscriptions to run twice an hour instead of however its setup and for some reason this fixed it.
Try uploading your showgroups.php file again to your FTP and see if that solves the problem

ok, I'll try that. How do I make it run twice an hour? I see a series of dropdown boxes, btu I'm not sure what to do with them.

I'm assuming that was directed at 10ofhearts?

Go to edit the Subscriptions Task, then in the minute drop downs you'll want something like
0 30 - -
This will run the task at xx:00 and xx:30. every hour.

Sorry kept away with a couple of things.
We are new to vB and installed at 3.5.3, the subscriptions worked fine for the first 3 or 4 days then just stopped, we didn't add any hacks to the live forum until the end of that week.
The forum leader link stopped at the beginning of last week (about 3 1/2 weeks into our time with vB), we had some hacks on by that point but these were all added at the end of the first week/start of the second, so there was about an 8 - 10 day period before it suddenly went down.
I would add we have experinces a number of other problems reported, members have problems logging in or staying logged in, a few can't access from a second computer and we are having a running fight with AOL at the moment as all our Emails are being blocked (never happened when we were with IPB), so registration for these folk is a major pain.
We had trie to concentrate on these issues as the others were just inconveniant rather than a problem, but I thought as it had been raised I'd jump on the bandwagon.
Oh the joys

I hadn't changed the scheduled tasks, I'll try that, although I had tried to reupload the showgroups.php file again as that was the 'key' fix that IPB always recommended.

You are showing too many members on showgroups.php, so the script is running out of memory.
You can't show usergroups that have a lot of members (like Registered).

Ah, right thanks, we had 1,300 more before and it was fine, I'll remove the registered group and we'll hopefully be sorted
And indeed it is, thanks, so simple yet so effective

Nope, still not working. REnewals aren't processing either, I am having to manually add time to the membership every time I recieve a subscription payment.

Ditto
Tried changing it a multitude of ways and my subscriptions just refuse to update.
I'm still a few months from renewals though so not got that issue yet.

uggh.; $10 a month, 8 new members here, and a whole mess of Privat messages.
i hate to think it, but I may have to uninstall my hacks.
See if it works.
Get another subscriber.
see if it works.
reinstall the 20 hacks, one at a time..
get a new subscriber, each time...
etc.
etc.

Mine stopped working for a while. It turns out, I had deleted a forum that the subscription used to give access to as part of the perks. Did you remove anything or change anything that the subscription depends on?

Thanks for the input Amy. Just checked again to be sure, but there's nothing special that has been removed.
My paid subscriptions allow my users to:
have a bigger avatar, use the pager (this is recent, could it be the culprit?),
more PM storage,
name changes color.
There are no extra forums for them.
Here's another clue - I checked my apache build, and cURL was not enabled. I have enabled it. The paypal stream etc passes in the test communication.

Try turning off the pager and see if it works after that. If you get a sympathetic subscriber to help you test, he can subscribe, you can refund his money and unsubscribe him multiple times. Eventually, you'll get it sorted out. Turn a feature off. Test. If it works, that's the culprit. If it doesn't, turn the feature back on and move to the next one.

Been down most of that, just waiting on my mate getting back to me to finish it off, tried that before posting.
We do not have any extra forums either although a number of settings and permissions changes are supposed to occur.
If I manually move someone their profile works fine with all the new settings and permissions, it is only the automated process of changing usergroup when they conclude the subscription process that is busted.
I notice that there is a wee bug fix with the .4 upgrade for subscriptions we have scheduled some time to run that on our test site, although how reliable that will be I don't knowas we have a huge amount of things changed on there and being tested at the moment.

Well I'm sorry to report that we are having as many problems still as ever.
We have done the upgrade to 3.5.4 and tried all the great suggestions that have been made, and are no further forward with the subscription issue, it is still busted, and still annoying the members.
We even tested an option to pay by mobile phone using the system, as it runs along the same principles, and everything tested fine, but the subscription group did not change when we 'cleared' the payment.
If anyone has any other ideas I'd be mighty aprreciative.
