I need a bit of advice on setting up a recipe site. Basically, I need it to do some very specific tasks and I'm unsure how to go about it.
Features I need:
Ability for users to submit recipes to the site. Some sort of form (preferably one where I can edit the fields to include stuff like ingredients, cooking instructions and images)
search that scours recipe database
ratings for recipes
integrated forum
registration on the site means the user can post on the forum and vice versa
The forum part is easy, I'll be using vB3.5. I have a list of plugins that I will use to customize the forum. I'm also a relatively skilled skinner so making a good integrated theme is easy.
The part I need is the front end that allows for a front page and a user submitted recipe database that is searchable, browseable and rateable.
I looked at vB Portal and it doesn't seem to have all the features I need. Or, at least, I don't see how I can get it to do what I need.
Does anyone know how I can get software to do, roughly, what I need without enormous modification? I'm not a programmer and, at best, I can do some light PHP editing but I can't create entire modules.
Thanks in advance.
